2012 Parish Weekend

For the past several years, members of all ages, singles and families, from Holy Spirit have gathered for a weekend in the mountains of North Georgia. Utilizing the wonderful facilities of Mikell Camp and Conference Center in Toccoa, we have played and studied, worshiped and meditated, danced and sung, laughed and cheered as we shared our lives with one another in a loving and caring community. The Parish Weekend has become a time for the renewal of friendships and the preparation for the joyous season of Easter when all things are made new.

Once again, it is time to make reservations for our 10th Annual Parish Weekend scheduled for March 9-11, 2012. Our weekend theme is Where We’ve Been, Where We Are, Oh, The Places We’ll Go!, and we are very excited that Fr. Keith will again lead our adult program. Under his leadership, we know this will be an exciting and spiritual weekend for all. There will also be fun programs for our children led by members of the Camp Mikell staff, and for our teens led by our new youth minister, Paul Morris. And, as always, there will be good food, much laughter, free time to hike or nap, and bread and wine to feed the soul.

Click here for a registration form for the 2012 Parish Weekend. In order to give Camp Mikell a preliminary count, we need your completed form and partial payment to hold your reservation no later than January 30thFull payment will be due February 25th.  As always, if cost is a concern for your family, please contact Clergy directly.

If you have any questions or would like more information about our Parish Weekend, please contact Janice McClelland, 770-889-0631 or jpmcclelland@bellsouth.net, or Fr. Keith.

We look forward to another wonderful Parish Weekend and to seeing YOU at Camp Mikell in March!

Dear Parishioner,

I am looking forward to being with you at our annual Parish Weekend scheduled for March 9-11, 2012. Our theme will be Where We’ve Been, Where We Are, Oh, The Places We’ll Go!

Like past parish weekends, we will leave much of our time unscheduled so that we can relax and spend time with family and friends. The Parish Weekend Committee also will do their usual great job of planning optional, fun activities that we can enjoy.

For our spiritual renewal and formation, we will take time to hear stories and ask questions about the history of our parish in order to help us understand what has formed us in our life together. Everyone will get a chance to participate in different ways so that we have fun and feel comfortable. I anticipate a lot of laughter and at least one or two insights that will help us appreciate our parish and one another. Our experience this weekend may even result in a few new ideas that we can incorporate in the future. There will also be an intergenerational activity which will help individuals and families discover what’s important to them about Church of the Holy Spirit.

I hope that many of you will be able to join us as we enjoy this time with each other. It is one more opportunity for us to build our vision for the future here at Holy Spirit as we strengthen our relationships in our parish community. Please feel free to contact me or any members of the Committee if you have any questions or suggestions.

God’s peace,

Keith+
